About aNERDgallery

aNERDgallery is first Singapore-based art platform specializing in textile arts with a focus in Indonesian batik, a technique of decorating a piece of cloth through repeated process of drawing patterns with a dye-resiting agent (wax) coloring and wax removal. In 2009, Indonesian batik was confered into the List of Intangible Heritage by UNESCO.

Through the nerdy looking glass, we aim to unravel the beauty of these garments from both ancient and contemporary textile artists. Our mission is simple: to connect artists and collectors to decode and to understand the rich culture, technological development and historical significance of these ancient art technique.

We work with different partners – private collectors, museums, galleries and artists – worldwide to share our deep passion for textile arts to art enthusiasts worldwide through workshops and discussion groups. Besides, we source artworks and commission events and projects that are customized to suit your requirements. Our activities and services, for both personal and corporate clients, include:

• Design consultancy and sourcing of artworks and textile arts for interior decoration;
• Customised cultural gifts for companies or personal anniversary presents;
• Workshops and corporate team building events;
• Exhibition curation and arts marketing.
