Dutch Tea Time

Nothing beats a good tea time! The cups, pots and saucers are arranged neatly across this kain panjang. This design is influenced by the English design of flowers, leaves and vines whereas the color reflects the resemblance to traditional Chinese porcelain, paying homage to the old Dutch-influenced batik. The fine lines around the rims of the teacups is the signature Cirebon batik makers.

The design is simple but it includes various isen (small details) with an evenly toned dark blue color throughout, an evidence of mastery in isen and color, bringing life and vibrancy to the batik art piece.

This batik cloth maybe folded and hanged or framed to highlight their best feature for any size and type of surfaces in your house or office. The minimalistic color and the warm, fuzzy feeling makes this art work suitable as a centrepiece in modern homes.
