Fishes and Rainbow is featured in aNERDgallery’s exhibition inVISIBLE: Exploring and Redefining Femininity Through Batik, in partnership with Together-Gether SG.

Odd-numbered fishes in a circular motion represents good luck. The burst of colours and patterns against the dark blue background shout celebration and good vibes.

The artist, Ria Rosa, uses a combination of brushes and canting to create patterns and lines with wax. After which, she applied colours using colet (brushing) method before the final wax removal in boiling water with soda ash.

The design and colours inject an atmosphere of vibrancy associcated to the underwater world. This artwork has been custom framed and is ready to be hung in any space with minimalistic interior.
