Red Earth: Cirebon Kain Panjang, A Contemporary Batik

This Cirebon kain panjang is an experimental batik tulis (hand-drawn batik) by the artist depicting an opposite and almost symmetrical land mass, inspired by the great nature. Each “plot of land” has own distinctive textured motif and color patterns which translates to different techniques and a clear mind to execute the piece. Patterns featured include mosquito coils, cracked batik and a tribute to the artist’s hometown, Cirebon’s Mega Mendung.

This is a contemporary kain panjang which does not conform to any of the traditional motif. This batik cloth maybe folded and hanged or framed to highlight their best feature for any size and type of surfaces in your house or office. The red color against the black background exudes conviction to any modern space. Alternatively, this cloth may be transformed into a gentlemen dress shirt to bring out their confidence and radiance of those who dares to be different.
