Tuban Batik Ornaments – Geometric

Contemporary patterns made of angles, curves and lines immaculately aligned in a 3×3 grid repeated along this Tuban Batik shawl. Other than shapes, the artist plays with colours gradation and overlaps. The first colored in soft earth brown, followed by the batik process of the process before dipping into the blue vat, giving an exclusive moss green colour.

Batik Tuban is one of a kind Batik in Indonesia. Tuban is one of the last remaining places in Indonesia where they weave and batik their own cloth. The cloth texture is thicker than the usual batik from a primissima cotton. This shawl may be displayed as a decoration with a hanger or as a runner in the living room. The monotone background gives the flexibility to be combined with an existing art piece or against any surfaces and colours. Alternatively, this batik is usually used as a shawl draped over the shoulder, paired with bright clothing.
