Edition 3 of 2026: Ngulik Batik

This August on Singapore’s National Day weekend, a trip in collaboration with Llany Arias, Mexican multidisciplinary artist specialising in Indonesian Batik who has called Yogyakarta a second home since 2013. Ngulik Batik is a dive into Llany’s relationship with batik as we invite you to creatively explore this Indonesian renowned heritage. Based only in Yogyakarta, we will visit places and work in batik studios exploring hot wax dye resists in a various medium.

On this trip, you will get to:

• Experience a detailed, hands-on Batik techniques, both traditional and contemporary form from the local pros.
• MYOB: Make Your Own Batik!
• Visit Yogyakarta’s Batik haven such as Batik Studio Tembi, Batik Winotosastro and Beringharjo Market.
• Expect rich culture and tasty local delicacies beyond gudeg.
